The Balance Centre provides specialist Vestibular Rehabilitation treatment to help patients suffering from a range of illnesses linked to dizziness and balance.
Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of physiotherapy that contains treatment manoeuvres to reduce dizziness and improve balance. The main objective of vestibular rehab is to re-educate the vestibular system and the brain to distinguish and process indications about movement and spatial orientation in coordination with data from vision and proprioception.
Our vestibular rehabilitation programme consists of an initial assessment which lasts between an hour and an hour and a half. During this time a sequence of examinations and eye movements are recorded in order to make an analysis. Dynamic visual acuity is tested to give awareness into vestibular function. Computerised dynamic post urography is used to permit us to measure various features of your balance. All the data is gathered to allow us to express an modified exercise programme for each patient.
In agreement with our dedication to offering progressive and effective treatments for dizziness and balance issues, our vestibular rehab programme utilises the most modern data and equipment offering our patients with best level of treatment.
